United Healthcare Coverage Availability & Fees
United Healthcare generally splits their coverage tiers amongst three separate treatment categories: preventive services, basic services, and major services. Preventive services include biannual checkups and cleanings, as well as diagnostic X-rays. Basic services are treatments like fillings and emergency dental appointments, while major services are treatments like retainers and root canals.
How much coverage you’ll receive for each category ultimately depends on the unique details of your plan. Every policy is a little different, and those differences are usually reflected in the price of your monthly premium (higher premiums typically come with more favorable benefits). That said, most United Healthcare plans cover 100% of preventive service costs and between 50-80% of minor and major service costs.
If you have a PPO plan, then your coverage will also vary based on whether you’re visiting an in-network or out-of-network dentist. Fortunately, our office is considered in-network with United Healthcare plans, meaning you’ll be saving as much money as possible when you choose us for dental care.
